A Multiple Range Procedure for Independent Correlations

Kenneth J. Levy

State University of New York at Buffalo

Marascuilo (1966) proposes a {chi}2 analog of Scheffe's multiple comparisons procedure. With respect to pairwise comparisons among k independent correlation coefficients, a multiple range procedure will produce lower critical values than the corresponding {chi}2 values, thereby increasing the power of the resulting tests. The basis of such a procedure is discussed and an example is provided for illustrative purposes.
