Two Computer Programs for the Statistical Evaluation of a Weighted Linear Composite

William A. Sands

Navy Personnel Research and Development Center San Diego, California

The two computer programs described herein are designed to provide statistics for a weighted linear composite of k component predictor variables. One version of the program (WLCB) is set up for batch processing; the second version (WLCI) is designed to be used in an interactive or demand processing mode on a computer terminal. Although the input/output formats are different for the two versions, both compute the following statistics for a weighted linear composite: (1) mean, (2) variance, (3) standard deviation, and, (4) validity coefficient.
