The Predictive Validity of the Scholastic Aptitude Test of the National Organization for Education Evaluation of the Iranian Ministry of Sciences and Higher Education for a Group of Iranian Students

The validity of the Scholastic Aptitude test of the National Organization for Education Evaluation (SAT NOEE) of the Iranian Ministry of Sciences and Higher Education was examined in relation to the prediction of success of 406 students who had completed two years of study at Pahlavi University (PU), Shiraz, Iran. Significant correlations were obtained between scores from SAT NOEE and overall grade point averages. The study did not support the hypothesis that women are more predictable than men. The hypothesis that the predictive validity of scholastic aptitude tests has been decreasing during recent years was strongly supported.
