Factorial Validity of the Stanford Achievement Test for First-Grade ChildrenTexas Woman's University
Texas Woman's University The factorial validity of the Stanford Achievement Test was investigated with a sample of first grade pupils. Although eight areas are proposed from the SAT, this analysis produced only a single factor. Although the general factor included all eight areas of the SAT, it appeared to be highly influenced by verbal comprehension or reading abilities. In light of these results, interpretation of the SAT for first-grade children should be limited to a total score approach.
