The University of North Carolina at Charlotte This article is an account of the development of an instrument which measures self-expressed competence in teaching techniques. Psychometric properties of the instrument are discussed including construct validity, stability, and internal consistency. Suggestions for possible use of the instrument in teacher education are included.
