DOI: 10.1177/001316448704700333 Psychological Correlates of Success in CollegeJohn Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York This study examined the relationship between the personality variables Achievement, Aggression and Deference, as measured by the Adjective Check List, and success in college. Also examined was the relationship between high school average and college success. It was found that the variables Achievement and Aggression accounted for 21% of the variance in grade point average, and that high school average accounted for 10% of the variance.
