Program Facstrap: A Program that Computes Bootstrap Estimates of Factor Structure

Bruce Thompson

University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University Medical Center

In this paper program FACSTRAP is described. The program computes factor analytic results from either correlation or variance-covariance matrices. Pooled estimation procedures are accomodated by rotating each sample result into a common factor space. The program is useful for resolving numbers of factors questions, for estimating structure coefficients, and for estimating the invariance of results across samples.
