Discriminating Levels of Development through Attitudes: An Empirical AnalysisUniversity of Maine This paper reports on the development and validation of an instrument that assesses level of knowledge development through students' attitudes on sub-topical areas within one content domain. The instrument is shown to demonstrate high reliability with both advanced and introductory students, and was found to correlate moderately with overall student performance.
