Extension of Margin Sum and Cell Variances to Repeated Measures/Randomized Blocks Analysis of Variance and Criterion-Scaled Regression Analysis

Kenn Finstuen

U.S. Army-Baylor University, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas

Gibbons and Sherwood demonstrated the use of three types of criterion-scaled code vectors in regression analyses to test the hypothesis of mean treatment differences from repeated measures, an equivalent hypothesis to that of a randomized blocks analysis of variance (ANOVA) design. This short paper shows that the analysis of variance (ANOVA) source table and the regression analysis R2`s may be recovered quickly from the margin sums and cell variances of the design matrix exclusive of ANOVA "correction" factor or actual regression equation computations.
