University of Maryland Counseling Center The purpose of this study is to examine the test-retest reliability, internal consistency, and factor structure of the Group Therapy Survey (GTS) (Slocum, 1987). One hundred forty-seven students in an educational skills class at a large eastern university completed the GTS. The two-week test-retest reliability was .80, and the internal consistency of the GTS was .59. Also, three factors emerged ("Positive Attitudes," "Misconceptions," and "Self-Disclosure Fears"). It was suggested that the 25-item GTS be revised prior to use by clinicians and researchers.
