An Investigation of Racial Bias in the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-RevisedAuburn University
Auburn University
Auburn University Step-down hierarchical multiple regression procedures were employed to investigate whether or not the PPVT-R is racially biased in predicting the scores of white and black subjects on the WISC-R for 75 adolescent subjects. The multiple regression equation slopes for blacks and whites were not significantly different, but intercepts for blacks and whites were significantly different. The results indicate that the PPVT-R is valid for blacks and whites in predicting WISC-R scores.
