The Family Map: A Graphical Representation of Family Systems TheoryBoston College
Simmons College Family systems theory offers an explanation of how families interact and develop. A statistical representation of such interactions has been problematic. The present study proposes that "family maps," defined through role-playing and multidimensional scaling analysis, offer a diagnostic means of understanding current and hypothetical familial interactions. Empirical experimental data illustrate the utility of this methodology.
