Expectancies for Success as a Multidimensional Construct among Employed Adults

The Generalized Expectancy for Success–Revised (GESS-R) scale was administered in the United States to 547 full-time employees. An exploratory factor analysis yielded four distinct factors. Scores on the four subscales were minimally related to demographics of the subjects and had adequate internal consistency. These results indicated that GESS-R scores measured a multidimensional construct when administered to the present sample of employed adults.
